No bluetooth in Microsoft Teams app

Hey all,

Recently installed GrapheneOS on a Pixel 9 pro xl.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas or knowledge for the below issue:

When using Microsoft Teams app (installed through Google Play Store) it doesn't provide an option for connecting to a bluetooth device. I have bluetooth turned on and Teams has permissions to nearby devices.

Bluetooth itself works without issues, Youtube/Spotify/Phone/Android Auto etc work fine playing audio or calls.

I have tried enabling all permissions and the compatibility option for the Teams app.

Am on the latest Graphene version and Teams version.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated

Most of the time it comes down to version (phone/app), exploit protection (mostly secure app spawning), google play service, not installing or running it on first user, not getting it from the google play store.

Google Play Services version: 26.24.34
Exploit protection (I'm assuming you mean specific to the Teams app, not the general defaults?): Have tried with both Exploit protection compatibility mode on and off, as well as secure app spawning disabled
Google Play Service: I think default settings (Exploit protection compatibility mode is not enabled) + permissions for nearby devices, network, notifications, sensors
User: I'm running it in my owner account, I don't have any other user profiles setup currently
Play Store: Can confirm it was downloaded from the Google Play Store, I have also tried via the Aurora store

I've also had a look through Teams settings and bluetooth settings and can't see anything relevant.

Does team app have Bluetooth? Honestly it might just be a problem with the team app in general, they are known to make terrible apps, mostly vibe coded stuff

Yes. The Teams app has bluetooth...

I wasn't able to find any other Graphene specific posts about this issue which is odd so makes me wonder if its a new bug or something unique to my setup.

Clustered0610 I don't understand the issue description and so don't know how to reproduce this. Which menu are you referring to and what specifically is missing from the menu?

Something like this would help:

I open the Teams app
I select X and then Y
In menu/button Z I'm observing the following

Sorry I should have been a bit clearer.

I don't see a bluetooth option for audio when in a call or meeting. I can only see speaker, device or audio off. Usually I can see an option for my paired bluetooth headphones.

Steps to reproduce would be:
Open app
Join call or meeting
Look at audio devices available to switch to/use

Clustered0610 That clarifies things. Although I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. I don't have a meeting to join, but I "created" one and in the menu to choose device settings prior to joining the meeting I'm able to select a Bluetooth device without issues (Jabra buds) as long as I gave Teams the Nearby devices permission.

Have you tried simply reinstalling the Teams app?

I have uninstalled it, cleared cache/storage, rebooted, reinstalled with full compatibility and permissions and still no bluetooth audio option in a call.

I was also testing with a self created meeting and no luck. The fact it works as expected for you, makes me think it's something unique to my setup/phone :/

Does your nearby devices permission say "allowed to keep working" or similar? Try denying nearby devices then allow it.

You could try this also

Settings > system > reset > reset app settings

Also reset Bluetooth and wifi

You'll have to re-add Wifi's and Bluetooth devices.

Have reset both apps and Bluetooth/wifi and sadly still the same outcome.

Nearby devices permission was set to allow to to keep working, and I tried changing it to just allow but didn't seem to make a difference and the same with disabling/reenabling

Have also tried a completely different account in Teams

It seems the only way I got this to temporarily work, is by playing Spotify first through my bluetooth headset, and then joining a Teams meeting/call. If I pause Spotify before joining the meeting/call, Teams doesn't play anything through bluetooth.
