Is grapheneos safer against physical attacks?

So I'm thinking of buying a Google pixel 6 or 6a to install GrapheneOS on it.
But my question is:
Is a device with GrapheneOS safer against attacks from someone (government) that has physical access to the phone than a device with stock rom?
Because I know that samsungs stock android for example is safer than lineageOS regarding physical attacks.
