PimpinPumpkin to speedup the download. When I using comaps I run a container into the desktop to download the maps then later I download to the phone using local network instead of internet and I update maps in seconds instead of minutes

cdflasdkesalkjfkdfkjsdajfd I see, interesting. I may look into it. Something worth mentioning is I built delta updates into the map downloads, both for the map itself and the business data pack. So, instead of updating a 500MB every time, you just get a 3MB diff (just as an example). That is something I have not seen any other map do before, and I really don't get why. Maybe I live under a rock.

I've always wondered why Comaps / Organic maps hasn't implemented delta updates for maps... seems like basic functionality, would also greatly decrease the stress on the map servers.

@PimpinPumpkin I have to ask why "Ur Mom" ? Searching the meaning comes up with similar things like here which was what I thought when I first saw it. Obviously I think I'm wrong so had to ask?

I find Vela to be of questionable value. Today I turned on GPS, started Vela, waited for Vela to get my location, centered the map on my location, performed a search and the Vela recentered the map to a location hundreds of miles away and gave results in that area.

i love the app. it works really nice.

i saw that todays update mentions android auto. but AA cannot work if app is not from play store.

@PimpinPumpkin can we help out somehow with AA?

Go to Settings - About and scroll to the bottom. There are three update channels and one is called stable.

marq2 Yes, there is an open pinned issue on GH. Right now for us GrapheneOS users, using Gearslip is the best option for getting an Android Auto experience in the car with Vela. Vela actually inspired the project, and the dev and I have been talking, and there is a big update coming hopefully soon that will improve compatibility with newer cars.

But either way, I am all for poking for ways to make Vela on AA work for others. It already works with stock Android if you use KingInstaller.

I don't personally use AA, so if you want to submit code to make the AA experience more like Gmaps, more functional, prettier, etc, all would be appreciated.

Yeah I call it stable because it changes less frequently than nightly and canary. But yes Vela is beta the same way something like NewPipe is. Usable in most cases, but always improving.

I genuinely don't know what the max number of canary builds I've pushed in a day is but I think it's like 50 lmfao.
