BLUF: I don’t know whether I’ve implemented GOS users correctly, or if there are glitches.

I am new (last 6 months) to droid-based phones…my first was a Brax3 running iodéOS (which is still on A16), but using only the owner account.
I now have have a Pixel 9 Pro XL (gave up on Brax3). I have a physical sim with Tello and e-sim slot is empty.
I bought the phone brand-new, and immediately flashed it to GOS (I can’t remember if the first GOS was based off A16 or A17) before even putting the sim chip in. I’ve noticed GOS has updated since then. I’m pretty sure the behavior has been the same since the beginning. I found several text threads from before 7/5 that behaved correctly.
I’ve set the owner account (user0) up to be an app pusher.
I’ve been using the daily driver account (user1), with more users to come when I figure out which app store I want to use for banking, etc (leaning to new throwaway Goog account for Play Store).
I’ve set up favorites on the default GOS phone app (each with their own ringtone), and downloaded my contacts from my previous phone on user1. I use the default GOS text app. On user1, I have Signal installed.
Texting problem: user1 initiates texts, but only gets responses on user0. Unexpected texts from people I know go to user0 (which, as expected, has no access to user1’s contacts, so identifies them only by phone number). user1 has next-to-zero visibility of incoming texts via a notification bubble. I then switch to user0 and read the text.
user1 has flawless use of Signal (which is disabled on user0).
Phone problem: Similarly, when one of my favorites calls me while I’m user1, I get the default ringtone (instead of their specific ringtone) and a notification bubble when I miss their call. Using Tello, I have to dial a phone number to check vm, so I have no way of checking for similar-to-text user1/user0 behaviors.
Aside from disabling most of the downloaded apps on user0, I don’t recall messing with any of the default settings for either the phone or text apps on either user0 or user1.
I have messed around with storage scopes, but don’t recall touching contact scopes. Aside from that, I’m at a loss as to what settings to tweak to resolve this (unless it’s a known issue I didn’t find at https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues?page=1).
In any case, still loving GOS and my de-Appled, de-Googled phone, and thank you for your time.
