'Opsec' is Operational Security. It means different things if you're a journalist, a human rights activist, a military commander, a spy. But the general idea is to maintain the security of what you're trying to do (which includes privacy: if the enemy knows about your mission, that is a problem)
Might be a useful term to search for - there are various 'Opsec for journalists' and similar guides out there. Maybe your opponent is not the secret police, but you can still learn from them - what they are trying to do and how to do it, and you can decide whether that thing is relevant to your situation.
