Does Tor Browser not work on GOS?

I downloaded the Tor Browser app here:

Specifically, the first one listed there, called “aarch64.” So, I open the app and see this:

_Connect to Tor

Tor Browser routes your traffic over the Tor network, run by thousands of volunteers around the world

Always connect automatically (it’s disabled by default)

And below:

-Connect
-Configure connection…_

When I touch “Connect,” I wait and wait, but it never connects. Is there any solution?

that is a problem with your internet, if you can access the internet normally and tor browser has the network permission its likely your connection to tor is being blocked, you may need to try a bridge or something

It should work, a safer way is to use orbot and connect to a tor website using vanadium. Also tor asked for some special permission (Like all gecko browsers)

Thanks. It was a problem with the network permission. Now it works.

phonenotworking threat model issue. Orbot+Vanadium is more secure but breaks the enhanced anonymity provided by Tor Browser

gristle-cause You can use brave browser, makes everyone and every session completely unique.

In general you shouldent do anything too sensitive on tor from your phone, for this you can use tails/qubes.

phonenotworking the GOS devs would argue that anti fingerprint techniques like those Brave offers are mostly theater. It lacks the anonymity features that make your traffic identical to other users, while failing to neutralize all fingerprintable metrics like screen resolution. Though that's still debated. I do use Brave on occasion, as a chrome-based browser, it is more secure than Tor Browser

Concur that tailes/whonix is the preferred implementation for true anonymity

The unfortunate truth is that we dont know enough yet. I will argue that in the computer there is quite a lot of benefits to using brave compared to trivalent, in phone you are way less unique even when using vandium.
