How to kill an app in GrapheneOS?

I'm specifically looking to be able to kill an app very fast (ideally in one-click).

In LineageOS you can just hold the back button for 1 second and it will kill the currently-open app. This feature is a lifesaver! I use it several times per day for misbehaving apps.

I just installed CalyxOS and I can't find a similar feature. Honestly I don't think I can use an OS that doesn't allow me to quickly kill misbehaving apps.

Bring up the recent apps and close your app from there.

You can force stop an app, but you shouldn't really be doing that.

If you don't want the app doing anything at all, GrapheneOS adds the functionality to disable normal user apps.

You mean by swiping the app in the app switcher? That doesn't actually force-kill an app in AOSP.

...unless GrapheneOS rewrote that logic to actually force-kill an app? Is that documented anywhere?

maltfield what does it do in AOSP, sending an app to some "background mode"?
From what I understand the process should be killed, at least that's what I see when I relaunch an app after it's been swiped up - usually it fully restarts.

Specifically I am asking for a way to kill -9 (force-quit) an app. There are definitely reasons to do this, especially in a high-threat-model environment on an OS specifically designed for security-first.

To save time and back and forth: there is no such option on GOS and it will never be added, proceed as your requirements and wishes demand (different OS, different launchers, automation tools, etc)

PS - you probably predisposed replies by calling this function "lifesaving"

Closing an app from recents takes no more than 2 seconds at the longest. I mean some people come here with really unrealistic expectations. Let's be real, okay?
