App making connections with network permission disabled.

I have been revoking network access from apps which I do not believe need it. One case of this is MXPlayer, a video player for android. I downloaded this from the Aurora Store. I was looking at my NextDNS logs and noticed that the app was making DNS connections to its servers, while I had blocked it in permissions. Anybody know what I did wrong? Maybe I am misinterpreting this. I did delete the app now, but took the following screenshots prior to deletion:

You have no indication of the app bypassing the Network permission. The app resolving that domain is not shown by that log. It's your incorrect assumption that it's the app querying that domain name. You should read https://grapheneos.org/usage#app-link-verification for an example of why that's an incorrect assumption.
