PSA - Pixel 7 (Pro) Google Camera Fixed

Newest GrapheneOS version + latest Google Camera update from Play Store fixed the terrible shutter lag I was experiencing on my Pixel 7 Pro. The portrait mode processing still takes a lot longer than on the Pixel ROM, but is also reduced by around 50%. Literally the only issue I was having with GrapheneOS is fixed now :)

mitex We didn't change anything relevant to this. We don't include the privileged access for Google Camera offered by the stock Pixel OS so it can only use the standard hardware acceleration on GrapheneOS. GrapheneOS Camera has fully hardware accelerated HDR+ and will have fully hardware acceleration Night and Portrait mode once there are CameraX extensions. Google Camera implements this itself and their software implementation for the Pixel 7 was likely flawed. It's likely they improved it in a Google Camera release. If they ever switch to using Camera2 / CameraX extensions once those are available, then it will perform the same as it does on the stock Pixel OS. We have no plans to undo our removal of the privileged Google Camera SELinux domain to provide it with non-standard hardware acceleration. It would go against not providing privileged access to Google apps.
