Unable to download files from the Standard Notes app

Hello,

I am using the Standard Notes app's paid feature, which allows for storing files.

However, I find that when I attempt to download a file from Standard Notes (installed on owner profile), the app simultaneously throws:

a truncated error message

"Storage permissions are required in order to download files. Please acce..."

& a false "success" message:

"Successfully downloaded file"
(Which isn't true, the file does not download)

When I go into Settings > Apps > Standard Notes > Permissions, there is no "Storage" permission available to toggle. Only three permissions are listed: Network, Camera, and Sensors.

Could someone help me troubleshoot this? Why is the storage permission seemingly unavailable to toggle for this app?

This is almost certainly an issue with the app. I'd recommend taking it up with them. I checked the app's manifest file and they seem to declare a storage permission but then remove it, and declare a different one instead.

Following up on this -

After contacting the Standard Notes support team via their protonmail address and ~ 4 weeks of back and forth, this issue was patched and fixed. At my request, I was refunded for 1 month's worth of Pro subscription for the inconvenience.

Big thanks to the Standard Notes team for fixing this in a reasonable-ish amount of time!
