Keyboard Shortcuts

Has anyone Keyboard shortcuts getting work? If so how did you do that?
After I added a word with the related shortcut in my Personal dictionary(For all languages) in the Keyboard Settings, the word won't show up when I type the shortcut. Have I done anything wrong?

@akc3n recently used the same feature to enable quick use of links maybe they can help?
What keyboard are you trying to use these shortcuts with?

MetropleX I use GBoard, but you can do it with the AOSP keyboard too.

Settings -> System -> Language & Input -> Personal dictionary - Add

Thank you guys for the hint with Gboard. With GBoard my shortcuts work but with AOSP Keyboard it doesn't.
I will use GBoard from now on.
