One major issue with "strict" fingerprinting protection on Brave (what you're most likely referring to here) was that so few users used it, so it broke websites without actually having much benefit. Fingerprinting protections only work when there are other people with the same protections to blend in with.

Both of these are optional features, but I agree, they definitely are unnecessary for a browser.

If you're referring to the lack of identification for the crawler, yeah, that is unfortunate. I would also avoid Brave Search if this is a concern, but it doesn't directly have to do with the browser itself.
If those things make you uncomfortable, then I understand why you wouldn't want to support them as a project, but I don't see how any of that is directly related to how private the browser is.
