wanna share with you another joke this f*cking company made for me.
About a year ago, I've created an account.
Used a prepaid sim card for the morbid google number perversion demand.
Created the account, added all possible 2FA methods, created backup codes, backup email from another provider etc etc etc.
Next few months was logging in on different browsers, computers, phones an separate profiles.
All was great, never was asked for a sms code. Always the auth code.
5 days ago, I wake up for my morning coffee-laptop-youtube ritual and guess what? The system decided I'm not human enough and revoked my logins globally.
No-problemo, thought I, just a small issue interfering my morning black substance ceremony, and after login I can soon be watching my subscriptions videos.
Ant then the shit hit the fan.
Entering mail.
Entering password.
Entering Aegis.
And there it is - 'we need sms code to verify it is you.'
The number displayed is that one, from a year ago, witch sim I threw away couple of months ago, because I have set 10 different login backup methods and never needed it.
No, robot, you are not human enough and those 10 other methods you can punch up your asshole.
And there is no other option. ONLY SMS TO NON EXISTING NUMBER or go fuck yourself.
10 other different ways to login? Yeah, we've done it for the illusion - number is the one and only one, other methods you can forget and not bother to do efforts setting them up, they will be rejected anyway.

I guess I was degoogled by google and from now on I am considering not to use ANYTHING from google services at all.

I used a simple but effective method for that problem: I deleted my google acccount and never needed it again since then :)

I used it exclusively for YT on my laptop. Subs and recommendations was the most needed part.
Now, I just gonna do my ritual via phone on PipePipe...
Google thinks I robot, or that I am dumb, or anyway.
Robotic system demands prove I'm not a robot. Go fuck yourself, google :-)

Especially, if it demands phone number. Today it demands phone number, tomorrow you'll be forced to physically visit nearest kiosk in your city and give blood sample, because system is registering something unusual in your browsing.
Again, google can go fuck itself. Time to degoogle my life once and for all.

"Robots everywhere" is missing the point. The point is you and your data. The whole phone numbers thingy is to precisely know who you are, not that you're not a robot.

thmf like google would not know this from what I watch, search, buy, download, browse, comment etc etc. already.
The prepaid esim number paid by cash or monero gives them nothing. And botfarms can be activated with esims at ease.

side question: does Google let you create accounts using a disposable esim number (like one you can get with those "vacation plan" providers)? They probably blacklisted then like most vpn egress nodes.

de_google Nice writeup! I can feel your frustration and I have felt it too in situations like those you describe. Like the lying they (and other companies) do when they first ask for ~~your~~ a random phone number not previously known to them to "protect your account", and won't let you login any longer when you don't provide it one.

Fay_Wilmont had this one, but after 10th time of throwing errors I just uninstalled it. YT hates this app and API, which leads to struggle and fingers crossed before every video. I'll rather use browser and a search, and overall, the less time in utube, the better.

de_google For mobile I specifically use PipePipe which has occasionally thrown errors but generally works fine for casual browsing. I do however use FreeTube on desktop.
