I think that in the broad sense, you cannot turn off "A.I". You can restrict it, you can lower the amount (changing the software you use, search engines, etc.), but at least for now you can't shut it out completely. LLMs are being used a lot. Do keep in mind, we have adapted before, we will adapt now and we will learn to live with it.
I like to frame my thinking on new stuff like this with:
If fear is present, it can be it so that it doesn't serve ones values.
Knowledge of the things you don't know or truly understand now, helps the you tomorrow deal with them.

I think LLMs (A.I) are becoming much more prevalent because there's a lot of money invested in it. I think that also they are becoming more prevalent because in the end, LLMs are tools, and there are legitimate use-cases for tools.
Note that I do not speak for misaligned use of an LLM. For example, forcing-ishly pushing mass-adoption of LLMs at this point in time where they are still immature generate huge amounts of misinformation.

I think that the point of you not being able to put an image onto a laptop ties into the whole saga of "not truly owning the things you buy", since you cannot necessarily do all the things you'd like to do to a device you own.
I think that it's possible that one could support movements, devices, operating systems, software developers which allow us to run our own devices the way we want. It is a big driving force for me, at least!
