Battery life, carrier Internet connection issues at 2026062300

Hi, I got so much troubles with my pixels 9 pro xl and 10 Pro Xl after I updated to 2026062300,

I can't charge my phone without it heating up so mad, and it takes really really long to charge it even though I keep my phone on a "colder" window sill which has 30°C, it seems weird that it's not able to charge without generating the heat that much, even though I have flight mode turned on.

Anyway both pixsls keeps heating. no matter what I do on them they keep hot.

Newest android is also laggy and causes increased temperature, because of the heat, the battery life dropped very significantly

The update also causes drops with Internet connection through telecom, they happen so often that during attempt to 1hr long call I get 4 call drops.

There's also issues with personal hot spot turning off after I switch the profile, which is a total disaster for professional usage of phone which I have.

Please fix those issues as soon as possible,

I will gladly donate you again if those issues are fixed

Okay, I've put the phone to fridge while charging, and it helps, finally got a charged phone. Maybe those heatwaves are the reason, but I think the battery life is still much worse than on a previous builds and phones get hot too easy.

Johnnyloans I constantly have location access turned off on both of my devices, and I only use LTE, not 5G, for privacy reasons and for reducing the power consumption.
Airplane mode kinda helps, but still phones keep their temps high no matter what I do on them. I have to put them to the fridge and then they become "charge-able".
I doubt it was like that before that update, nor it is because of the heatwaves, because also I noticed worser battery life on that update, which I assume is because of higher power consumption.

Do you use a charging adapter which is powerful enough? Running device services shouldn't take more power, than an adapter can deliver in addition of charging the battery.

Kamika242 I use very good quality 65W adapters with PD standard, with a proper cable with low impedance. It's a matter of thermal throttling, not a lack of power from a charger...

I've been having the same issue. Since One of the last two updates, I'm not sure which, my pixel 9 pro XL heats up all the time, and drains about 15 percent an hour with light use

I've been having battery issues too.

Phone is always warm now (but can't tell if this is due to the ongoing heat wave since my apt is consistently 90 degrees)
Twice recently the battery dropped off a cliff. Went from ₂₀% to 0 within a few minutes. Can't remember what happened the first time, but the second time I was connecting to mobile and either enabled my VPN or was about to enable my VPN.

Does having airplane mode on and location off help?

Turn off location in a quick tile or do it here:
settings > location > at the top you can turn off use location

Can you provide a bit more context on your suggested solution btw... Using airplane mode instead of mobile data seems like a step backwards w/o understanding your end goal. Do you mean to toggle it or something?

A few months ago a few people had an issue with GpS or the cell connection causing lots of battery drain and their phone was hot/warm. Maybe the issue still exists for some .

You can test it out overnight:
E.g.
GpS on and cell on
-30%
Gps off and cell off
-4%

Then test further. (Gps off cell on

By the way: you can have WiFi on after turning airplane on for calls and messages

Nope, this is something else. Battery life is being crushed by the last update, if it was location I would have seen it way before. It's not that.
How do I revert? This is BAD.

Adding another reply to the pot, I've been having abysmal battery life for the past week or two. Before, my battery could last for days if I wasn't using it heavily. Now, in a sudden change, it dies overnight if I don't leave it on the charger.

Pixel 8, tried switching to 4g only with not much improvement. Battery monitor shows that Mobile network is taking up 60-70% of battery life. I'm on US Mobile Warp.

Novaliss Thank you. Some of these points are relevant to me. That being said, combing the forum for the past two weeks, it seems there's been a number of folks who are experiencing an onset of degraded battery performance. I haven't made any changes in the way of that post you shared in the past two weeks, so it seems likely that something about a recent release is causing this degraded performance.

Did you try anything suggested in this thread? I see this complaint every couple of weeks with people saying the latest update did this. These reports keep on coming in as well as others report better battery life.
Maybe a factory reset would fix it for you, not sure how bad it is for you now.

Johnnyloans Yeah, I figured that may be the case too that people are always having new battery issues and looking for something to point fingers at. I'll try testing w/ fully charged phone and airplane mode on and then off at night and see what I get.

Also test location = off. I'd advise doing both airplane mode and location at once as a quick route to see if either help at all.

Settings > location > toggle at the very top says use location i think > turn it off
