Aefod I have a pixel 7 and am thinking about installing GrapheneOS. How easy is it to use GrapheneOS compared to the native Google OS? Do sandboxed playstore apps work well? Will I brick my device by installing GrapheneOS?
brookie229 It is very easy to use as it looks and feels much like stock android. You will have absolutely no problem if you have ever used ANY android device. Sandboxed apps work very well almost universally. You will not brick your device. It's (as far as I can tell) almost impossible to do so with the web installer.
brookie229 Aefod Yes. If, for some reason, you do not like the OS you can always flash the stock back again.
W1zardK1ng Install the GrapheneOS using the web installer once done install google play services (all 3 from apps), while signing in choose to create a new account and skip adding phone number. Apart from android auto almost everything will work as a google android os. later if you want you can try multiple profiles and no google service etc, but this is the best way to start and you wont feel like going back.
miyouji alex_herrero Graphene os only has safetynet basic integrity, no cts, so gpay and wallet won't work
alex_herrero miyouji as Han Solo would say... "I know". Was just adding that to the list of non-functioning apps. But thanks for the detailed reason of why it won't work.
[deleted] Good idea ! it is very easy to install GOS. It is easy to use, especially if you install Play Services, especially if you use all Google's services... Sandboxed playstore apps work well. I dont think you can brick your device with the web installer, especially if you do not disconnect during the installation process. Switch to GOS ! :)
