ryrona If you have anything in the VPN slot, whether a VPN app, firewall app or monitoring app, Nearby Devices permission state will be ignored, and the VPN app decides instead whether to allow or not.

That's subtle. It would be nice if the UI for the permission would say something like "overridden by ____ VPN app" when it's being overridden.

ryrona Yes. But there is an official supported way to transfer files into private space in the OS itself, and clipboard is shared too, without relying on loopback or any app.

I'm aware, I was looking for the opposite though. The save locally app is nice but only works for a single file.

AcclaimSublevel19 You can just grant it INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS on all profiles and it works again.
