McAfee True Key App does not work well on GrapheneOS

I have installed on GrapheneOS, McAfee’s True Key utility to store my passwords. The utility runs once, right after installation. However, after the application is closed, any subsequent usage attempt, the tool opens but freezes in a state of suspense prior to requesting the username and password.

Interestingly, when the application’s storage and cache, in settings > apps, is cleared, the utility will open just fine.

Does anyone know of any settings that would allow McAfee True Key to work in the GrapheneOS environment? I am using a google Pixel 7 Pro phone. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Try turning on Exploit protection compatibility mode in the App information screen. If not helpful, I would also try turning on Enable native code debugging and turning off Enable secure app spawning in Settings/Security

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried making the recommended changes, but it did not work. The only way that the app will work is by going into AppInfo and deleting app data and cache.

Perhaps not what you hoped to do, but had you thought of trying something like Bitwarden instead?

Is this app even 64-bit? If you never even tried it on stock, then I suspect it might be an old 32-bit app and if it is, then you wont be able to run on Pixel 7 regardless of OS, not even on stock

The app hasn't been updated for more than two years, and still targets sdk29.
That it doesn't work is rather a good thing...

I am unable to reproduce this. Do you need to login for it to start crashing afterwards? While I agree that this is probably not an app that you want to be using, it's important for GrapheneOS to be compatible with all kinds of apps.
