Scott Hi all, I'm unable to import my YouTube subscriptions into NewPipe using the CSV file from YouTube Takeout. The import process doesn't work as expected. I can't choose the file, I can't select it. Has anyone found a workaround? Is this a known issue with the current NewPipe version? Thanks for any help!
de0u Scott I think something similar was recently discussed: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/35616-cant-ope-any-files-from-apps-files-are-greyed-out
Johnnyloans Scott Not what you're looking for. I recently started using Pipepipe. Due to google's A/B testing changes, videos are often 360p in Newpipe. Also, Fossify files is a much faster files app. Godspeed on your Youtube journey mate
olliej I have just suffered this problem when shuttering a Google account. I used https://pypi.org/project/freetube-import/ I am not going to tell you this is an ideal solution, it involved quite a bit of messing around - I'm on Linux so it might be easier if you're on Windows. I used this tool to get my subscriptions into FreeTube and then in FreeTube I exported a file that NewPipe was able to import. Though I have since switched to PipePipe because NewPipe needs some UI work.
olliej olliej Ignore all I said above. I just tried Flow that @W1zardK1ng recommended and that imports YouTube's subscriptions.csv with no problems at all.
Abdullah_621 Try Flow from the link above. It imports the YouTube subscriptions.csv directly without any issues. A few others in this thread (including me) switched after running into the same NewPipe problem and are happy with it. The UI feels closer to the official app too. Worth a try before messing with workarounds.
Scott Many thanks to everyone. New software keeps coming out all the time. Unfortunately, I’m completely losing track of it all. The pace of development is incredibly fast. I guess I’m just too old for this.
