Does airplane / aeroplane mode also disables Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning?

59214497 Airplane mode only shuts down cellular connectivity. It's independent of Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. Those two can still be used even with Airplane mode being on. As such, any app (system or user-installed) can scan for Wi-Fi & Bluetooth signals if you have Wi-Fi / Bluetooth scanning enabled, even when Airplane mode is on.

Keep your Android’s wireless connections on in Airplane mode
