YT Music Revanced won't install on Pixel 10a

Whenever I try patching YT Music through the Revanced app or installing it as an apk, I keep getting "App Not Installed" almost immediately. I recall this happening on the Pixel 7 as well.

AchyParts did you use the right version? There's usually v7a, v8a, aarch64, and a few different variants. Usually it's caused by either that being wrong, or the regular YouTube app being installed beforehand. Although this is more of a question for revanced than GrapheneOS. Revanced is pretty frowned upon here I think.

Clippy Ah, I didn't know that Revanced had a reputation here. What I meant by an apk is saving the revanced patches as an apk and opening that, so idk if the type matters, and I didn't have the default app installed first. Anyway it looks like using Morphe instead works so that's settled at least.

Do you know why? I just looked at a few threads that say use newpipe instead or talk about microg for some reason.

AchyParts Johnnyloans revanced and mostly micro g are seen as increased attack surface and trust model especially given micro g permissions and such, there's probably more to it but that's the gist. I run revanced in a separate isolated profile with a VPN instance and dedicated burner Google account so that's a compromise I can live with but most people here will hiss at the thought of it. As far as morphe goes it's probably a similar story In regards to trust and attack surface, but if you isolate them to a profile that's generally seen as good enough.

I think most revanced users are running an OEM OS with Google play services. Having microg and play services running together isn't compatible.

As far as I can tell, normal revanced doesn't use microg.

Johnnyloans huh, revanced manager made me install micro g, although I wish I could program it to use sandboxed play from GrapheneOS. Probably could if I really felt like it. You don't need micro g to use revanced YouTube, just to actually sign in AFAIK.

Sorry, you're right that for Google apps microg is needed but not the others.
