Tutanota email app not working after last GOS update

I know this might be on the Tuta side, but the app stopped functioning correctly after the latest graphene update. I keep hoping to see a Tuta update on the play store, but it's been a while.
I can still log in, but after trying: refreshing, clearing the cache, and reinstalling the app, and restarting device, it won't fetch new emails. I still get notifications somehow, but when I pull up the app it won't update the inbox, and if I click on an old email I get a error "cannot fetch..."
Sometimes I've seen double inbox entries after closing and reopening the app.
I don't have this problem with any other app as of yet.
I've just been using my computer or browser for email in the meantime.
Anyone else have this problem or know a solution/workaround?

In the app, you can go to support then report an issue. This'll also ask you to send the app's logs to help them.

I'd mention grapheneos if it was me. They are cool with GOS, many of their employees use it.

I haven't had any issues. There was a new tuta mail released yesterday version: 348.260519.0

F-Droid app store still has the version from 4 days ago 348.260518.0 (I have this 1)

I'm on the latest GOS version 2026050901
(2026050900 is the same but doesn't have extra security updates)

I do use a VPN, but I haven't had any issues with it until now. I'll try to mess with that.
It looks like there may be a similar issue that they are working on that might fix, so thank you for pointing out the Github link, I didn't know they had that.

A VPN, DNS app, ad blocker, content blocker could be an issue.

I think installing it from fdroid worked (348.260518.0), I'll have to give it a few hours and maybe send myself some emails and see what it does. Thanks guys!
I'll give updates if it keeps having issues.

I finally got around to being able to post an update. The issue is not resolved.
When I swipe to delete and email, a notification comes up saying it's deleted, but the email stays in the inbox, but if I close the app and reload it, it's corrected.
And when i click on an email to open it i get a little box that says "An error occurred" and the option to ignore error, close window, or report. but sometimes (and only sometimes) I can close the app and this goes away, meaning functionality returns.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, from both play and fdroid. I've tried turning on and off Exploit compatibility.
The issues seem to be intermittent, not constant, and I haven't been able to pinpoint a way to recreate the problem.
Turning off my ad filter through VPN and then back on seemed to work for a while, but I had issues again this morning.
I emailed Tuta, we'll see what they say.

None of these problems here. Tuta 348.260526.0 from GitHub installed via Obtainium, latest update today 12:05pm MET.

Your version is outdated. That's why I don't like F-Droid and try to get all apps directly from GitHub, the F-Droid versions (if any) are available instantly there, while you have to wait days or weeks until they are published on F-Droid. Tuta in general needs no Google services and has no tracking, so no dedicated F-Droid version is needed here.

I downloaded the latest update from obtanium (348.26 05 26.0) and this doesn't fix my issues so far.
It seems to work better, comes 'online' faster, has no more errors, loads emails that I've already read, BUT it doesn't load emails that I have not read yet. When I click them it goes to a new page that says 'no email selected'.
I have disabled ad-blocking, changed VPN server, disabled app managing in OS settings, and switched on and off Exploit compatibility. not sure what else i could do that might affect it.
Since switching app versions didn't fix it, that makes me think it's maybe a system setting, or some other piece of software that's interfering somehow.
Not sure what's going on.
My threat model isn't high, system settings are 98% stock GOS on 'Owner' account, no other accounts, nothing crazy, and everything was working fine until a week ago. I run a base commercial VPN with minimal settings locked down, on 5G wireless. I've had GOS since January and Tuta was one of the first apps installed, never had a problem until recently.
Tuta has access to network, notifications, and sensors. Unrestricted battery usage. Turned off app management. Everything else is default.
I'll keep updating as I figure out more, in case someone else is having similar issues.

Is it okay to post logs, or would it help to do so?

Strange you're having issues. I just tried deleting an email without issue. I haven't heard anything from anyone that have shared inboxes with me either.

That's good you contacted support. Doing so within the app will send the apps logs so hopefully you deleted a few emails before doing so.
