"Can't use this folder. To protect your privacy choose another folder"

I've encountered this several times now. Certain apps can't get permission to use Downloads folder.

The prompt says:

"Can't use this folder.
To protect your privacy choose another folder."

Any help? I want to use Downloads folder.

filastinhurra well you can't, it's part of shared storage any app can use, so you get this prompt for a good reason.

Just create a sub folder with the name of the app and give permission for this folder
