Hi, I’ve just installed GOS on my Pixel 9a.
I’d like to use it as my everyday phone.
As I’ll need to use the phone outdoors too, I need a data connection and a phone number (to register on Signal or WhatsApp). What’s the best course of action? Would it be better to get a burner SIM from the Netherlands or Croatia and use it for the phone number and data, or get an eSIM and a VoIP service?
As for WhatsApp, unfortunately here in Europe it’s the most widely used app in many areas of daily life. I was thinking of using WhatsApp Web via my phone’s browser. Would that make more sense than downloading the app from the Aurora store?

I saw someone else suggest a matrix bridge for WA to avoid installing the app.

As for the phone number, I don't know. What are your goals or concerns with the phone number and perhaps someone else has some insight

Get the matrix messaging app then link it up with whatsapp so you get all of your whatsapp conversations inside of matrix
