Battery drain issues and trouble hearing some people on calls

Ive realized that my problem isnt malware related. So i appoligise for blaming graphene os for me corelating unrelated things.

It could be a combination of grapheneos call issues and my network. I noticed i get a lot of battery drain and i have trouble hearing a lot of ppl. It seems to corelate with calling landlines since other mobile phones seem fine.

Im working on calling koodo mobile, theyre often hard to contact i thought id rule out network issues. Strangely enough they gave me a month free service for seemly no reason, so maybe there was service issues. But theres no note anywhere why they did that.

Not knocking Koodo but they are still a subsidiary provider. It may come down to your devices signal strength to the network. When that connection is weak, call clarity can be impacted along with increased battery usage as your device tries to maintain a connection.

Specific network can also play a role. I'm not sure if Koodo uses a true 5G network or provides the sort of patch-work 5G that's sort of LTE on steroids. That again can impact call clarity.

You could try swapping the connection used to see if that helps. Also using WiFi calling may assist you in maintaining stable connections along with possibly resolving cellular connectivity blocks due to structures (lots of concrete etc).

Battery drain could be because of cell connection or gps. You could try setting gps to off and/or airplane mode to see if it helps.

Not hearing people, is it just quiet or static? Push the volume up button during a call to raise the volume higher or to the max?

I have trouble hearing ppl sometimes even with the volume cranked. Seems like mostly ppl working at goverment agency landlines or the police. Calls to cell phones are crystel clear and easy to hear.
