Questions about VPN and more. Please, Help

Hi there,

I have 2 questions:

1) I am using Proton VPN on my main profile. On the private side, I am using again Proton VPN with another setting.

It seems that, when opening the private profile, both VPN get "added". Today, using WhatsApp on the private profile and using data of an eSIM for the first time, my Pixel 9a started to burn... Too hot!

The truth is that the signal was weak so maybe the phone had to " work" more causing the hot temperature.

I am a little bit worried so I am wondering if having another VPN setting on the private main profile makes sense. Maybe the VPN on the main profile should be enough.

2) When using an eSIM, how do I get protected from 2G? Clicking the option or leaving it as it is? I understand I have to click it but I would appreciate confirmation.

Each profile has its own separate VPN setup (and some profiles can have none).

Slide it to the right to disable 2G.

de0u thank you. If I do not have a VPN on the private profile but only on the main profile, will this VPN protect the private profile?

I am asking because when using the private profile, the VPN of the main profile is still running.

Dboy On GrapheneOS at present one profile's VPN covers traffic for apps running in that profile, nothing more. There is no sharing of VPN connections across profiles. Private Spaces are profiles.

Also, the hotspot function is a system service, not an app. So client devices using the hotspot function are not covered by a VPN connection in any profile.
