Mobile internet working after getting new simcard

I recently had to order a new simcard because my old one suddenly stopped working (not even recognized by my pixel). After putting my new simcard in I noticed that I am able to call/be called and I am able to receive and send sms messages. The only thing is that my mobile internet does not want to connect( it says "No connection").

This is what I tried:

When I put my simcard in another phone, it works perfectly.
tried resetting my internet in internet settings
turned flightmode on and off
turned my phone off and on again
I do not have a vpn installed
I tried switching to 4G (did not fix issue) and then back
I tried to manually select the network i am connected to (cause more issues for a few hours)

When I searched online I saw that it happened to a few people before, but it looks like it allways was connected to an update they installed. I am unable to find a fix anywhere, does anyone have an idea of what I could do?

settings > system > reset > reset mobile

Test the internet.

Reboot the phone.

Test again.

If it doesnt work, double check this.
Under sim settings > access point names > pick the only option
The entries here should be double checked with your carrier to see if theyre correct.

Johnnyloans But doesn't AP setting mainly affect hotspot functionality? GOS imports carrier settings from Stock OS, so the probability of having issues with ap names should be low.

Access point names is empty when I click on it, it is possible to add one though. This is not as it should be right?

My understanding is it affects: MMS, cell internet, hotspot.

Voice and SMS usually aren't affected by the APN.

Many issues here are rather rare and should work or is a 1 in 10,000 mistake by their carrier.

So many people have a carrier issue on a brand new phone or sim and resetting carrier settings fixes it.

Which seems odd like as if the correct steps--sometimes--are akin to:

Install photoshop
Uninstall Photoshop
Install Photoshop

Your intuition is correct. That is not right. Did you already do reset mobile settings and reboot?
You may have to copy paste or type in the info your carrier provides.

Adding the APN and rebooting solved it!
