USB file transfer greyed out in secondary user profile

I'm using GrapheneOS with multiple user profiles (owner + secondary profiles for different use cases). USB file transfer works fine from my owner/main profile, but in one of my secondary profiles all USB options are greyed out.

Specifically: when I plug in a USB cable and go to the USB settings, everything is greyed out except for "USB controlled by" — but if I try to change it from "This device" to anything else, it immediately reverts back.

I suspect I accidentally set a restriction from the owner profile at some point, but I can't find where to revert it. I've looked through the settings in both the owner profile and the secondary profile but can't locate the relevant option.

What is the correct way in current GrapheneOS to manage USB permissions for secondary user profiles, and where exactly can I lift this restriction?

To my knowledge, USB is a system wide function and so settings are controlled by the owner profile.

Okay, but the owner profile can use the usb file transfer, only the second profile cant, even if I connect the USB cable, activate the transfer and change the profile and also if i connect first if i am at the second profile. And I need the documents on the computer for my working place.

There might be a way to do file transfer on a 2nd profile, I've never tried.

Hmmmm, try setting this to on
settings > search "USB" > usb-c port > set to on

This might be an issue since the owner profile is locked while you're in another profile.

If you can't figure it out and youre in a pinch, you can install "inter profile sharing" from the app called "app store" onto both profiles.

Email or transfer the files another way.

Johnnyloans I regularly do USB transfers from a secondary profile. I do not recall having changed any settings to enable it. I do find it inconsistent, hwever. Whether the settings are greyed out can depend, for example, on whether the phone is plugged into a USB-C socket on my laptop or to a USB-A.

Hmmmm, try setting this to on

This helps a lot. Now it isn´t grey and I can choose data transfer, but if I did, I cant open the Phone on the computer anyway. But I see it.

But the message was "Cant mount the pixel" (in another language, so I hope I hit the point of the message).

The workflow might have to be: plug in the phone, view the notifications of the owner profile, there's a notification about the usb conmect, tap it, allow the connection, change profiles
