Once a month, sometimes even more often, I run into a bug when switching users: the screen stops responding to touch completely.
The volume and lock buttons still work. The only part that seems to respond is the fingerprint reader, but after unlocking, the screen still won’t react to any taps. I can pull down the notification shade and quick settings from the top, but as soon as that panel closes, the screen is frozen again and doesn’t respond to touch.
This has been happening to me since i switched from pixel 9 to pixel 10 pro and the only workaround I’ve found is this:
- Use the wrong finger on the fingerprint reader several times until the phone forces you to unlock with the PIN instead.
- After entering the PIN, the phone will unlock, but the screen will still be frozen. However, at that point you can pull down the notification bar, swipe down once more to fully expand quick settings, and open Settings using the icon in the bottom right corner.
After opening Settings, the bug disappears and the touchscreen starts working normally again.
Posting this in case someone else runs into the same or a similar issue.
