I am relatively new to GOS and Android in general. But, I have to clarify, I know that STK is an AOSP app and not an app pushed by the carrier. Also, I know that it can be disabled (I did that) or removed using ADB.
I noticed that STK received a lot of dangerous permissions (like access to camera, mic, contacts, etc) when I inserted my SIM card. All of these permissions are pre-granted and non-removable (greyed out)
So, many things are not clear to me and I have several questions about STK:
- Can my carrier actually use those permissions to access my contacts, mic, camera, etc?
- Does STK have some default set of permissions that it cannot function without? Is this set of permissions decided by the carrier?
- I noticed that even after disabling STK, it still has fresh logs. Does disabling STK through ADB even do anything?
