First impressions of new user

there are lots of these - but i thought I would add my impression having tried/started this recently
I come from a android google world - samsung S22+, i do everything on my phone - work - CC / pay - game - etc etc - just like every one else.
Some key things I am looking for

work apps
audiobooks
some games
home apps - immich / joplin - nextclound / opencloud .. just the general de google stuff

Why did i start this - I don't like how enshitified google has become

I bought a pixel 10pro , i use the grapheneos install web page to do the install - in fact i did it from my google tablet ! that was easy , there were some steps that were assumed so i had to double-check some stuff..

Also i did it with out a sim/esim - just wifi

Then the adventure begins - how to setup some keys points which i didn't realise at the begining the owner profile has special / extra rights.

Also I find switching between profiles a pain - if I could launch apps from different profiles from the same screen that would be awesome - can't do as far as i know

so this is the plan I set out to do

do everything in the owner profile- think this is suggested as the simplest approach << NA

I am going to use the owner profile for installing apps - then disabling and pushing out to 1 other profile
google play services
google wallet
fdroid
obtainium - I am new to this and it looks good

whilst I can get my banking apps to install and seem to work . i couldn't get google wallet to work at the start

this is a non starter for me as I don't normally carry around a wallet any more

So far so good, think i will stick with my current setup - I might create a work profile and place all of my work apps there - but ..... it takes tooo long to switch profiles

Q) how do I update the play store - i'm presuming i don't do it through google play store
Q) I don't want to use a finger print for owner profile ... is a 6 digit pin okay or should i move to a password - trying to keep it simple to logging in with out going over board. i have password and finger print for the 2nd profile

This is where learning about the snadbox google play services some into play

give them the right permissions

turn NFC (in the owner profile)
I have it installed and running now woo hoo - haven't added any card yet so waiting to see if it actually works

nfc payment with google wallet does not work on GrapheneOS. Google deliberately blocks that. GrapheneOS cannot do anything to solve that, only Google.

depending on the country you are living in you need to use an alternative banking app that supports nfc payment on GrapheneOS that is not dependent on GooglePay/Google Wallet.

There are other apps that do offer nfc payment on GrapheneOS. In Germany for example Paypal offers NFC payments. (YOu have to check Paypals faq which countries get paypal nfc payments)

I think CurvePay is also working on GrapheneOS
