Google Play/Mobile Services problems on Pixel Pro 7

Hi all,

I've been using GOS on my Pixel Pro 7 with no real issue, except I cannot use my NatWest because "Google Mobile services are not supported on your device", despite every other app, including other banking apps work fine.

Initially I thought it was play services I needed to update, but I am not so sure. Additionally I then found I cannot updates play services anyway.

It's stating my current version is 22.45.17 updated on 18th December 2022, which would be about the time I bought the phone. I tried updating play servcies on Aurora store, but comes up with an error:

Installer failed.

INSTALL_FAILED_SESSION_INVALID: Installation of com.google.android.gms is disallowed to prevent breaking gmscompat

I'm fairly new to GOS, so any advice to work out why these issues have arose would be much appreciated :)

Right, seems I have fixed it. It just required the install of the Play Store being a mandatory part of services. I thought it was just the other way round.

Not sure why every app worked but NatWest. Hopefully this will help someone who may have the same error.

Wow. I just wrote out a whole thing making lots of suggestions and I didn't even think of mentioning you have to install Google Play for Google Play Services to work correctly. Maybe NatWest checks for Play Store then throws an error if it doesn't see it.

But that doesn't explain why Google Play Services is so old. I'd make sure your phone is completely up to date and you've installed all updates from the Apps app.

Also, if Google Play tries to update Google Play Services, you can allow that update. I don't think Aurora can update Google Play Services for you (not sure if that app is blocked or if it's just because they'll try to install an unsupported version). Only Apps or Google Play will install supported versions.

I may not have worded it properly, but installing the Play Store app not only fixed NatWest but also allowed the Services app to be able to updated. So how it updated in the first place, I'm not sure.

Yeah I didn't find the Services app on Aurora at all, but what I did do was install a Play Services checker which is what told me it's update version, but it gave an option to update, then sent me to Aurora to install Google Play Services. So I don't why it's not listed.

DeadSonRisingxD I have the same issue with google play services. I ended up uninstalling it and trying to re-download it via Aurora. It gave me the same INVALID SESSION message.

Where or how to I install Play Store again? I'm also on the P7P

From the Apps app in your app drawer. Install Google Play Services, and it will install Google Play Store and Google Services Framework, since they are dependent on each other.

Im using anon mode in Aurora.

I have uninstalled google play services but kept play store. not sure how to proceed.
