Is installing SmartLauncher a good idea?

I just installed GrapheneOS for the first time and I cannot stress how much I love all these privacy features like disabling network for specific apps, but the design is something I need to get used to. On my previous phone I had SmartLauncher installed but I want to avoid installing spyware/bloat so my question is whether SmartLauncher without network permission has any downsides. Thanks in advance

Stock launcher is very stable, efficient, and won't conflict with other apps or the rest of the UI. It has some options for customisation at longpressing homescreen and tap Wallpaper and style. The icons can be themed and reshaped etc.

I don't know SmartLauncher, but why not try out some open source launchers first? There are dozens of them.

I agree with @Novaliss and @nologo. As a fairly new GOS user I like the built-in launcher with its "Themed icons" option which I really like. I usually use µlauncher from Accrescent because it's minimalist and distraction free, or the default launcher.

I personally like Lawnchair (essentially a fork of the default AOSP launcher, but much more customizable. The current release is based on the Android 15 launcher, but the alpha uses the Android 16 one and despite it being alpha, it's been perfectly stable for me) and inkOS (minimal launcher, it looks like it's inspired by Light OS and despite being minimal has a truly great user experience. I'm currently beta-testing the 0.5 release which has upgraded it significantly. You can get in contact with the developer to be added to the beta test on Google Play or ask me for the APK if you want to try it out too).
