Kamika242 On my computer I use Linux Mint, no Windows or Apple crap.
Once again, implying the fact Android/iOS are the two most maintained smartphone OSes is based on conspiracy is like saying that the fact there are only 3 major OSes for desktop (Windows, MacOS, GNU/Linux) is a conspiracy. When in reality, its the fact no one is going to use Gurd or 9front to daily drive.
You using Mint proves my statement.
Not only do multiple mobile phone operating systems exist not based on Android, Android itself can be distributed and changed.
Devices that support android properly aren't going to run Ubuntu Touch properly because Ubuntu Touch has almost no security features for the boot process while Android does. These are two different systems, they need two different execution environments. Pixels don't support Ubuntu Touch because pixels have actual enforced boot security.
Surely you aren't suggesting every device should have the equivalent environment of the pinephone or else its malice on the manufacturer part.
GrapheneOS has google play services as apart of its core feature list. You are trying to say "its not actually android" when that's not the case at all. Android itself is already an open and distributable system at its core.
Regardless, what exactly is your solution? Both for a company to develop an OS and maintain it and receive support from other vendors. This just doesn't really happen. Its why there's no real 4th option for a proper desktop OS outside of the main 3. Maintaince and 3rd party support is what makes an OS an OS. Its why EVERYTHING is GNU now a days when its not Windows based.
Im sorry, but not everything is a conspiracy
