MFA/2FA with Ente

I've been using all Google up until recently, so all my security has been automatically handled by them. I've swapped everything over to alternatives now but have started thinking about security. I'm looking at using either Aegis or Ente Auth as an authenticator. I'm curious though, if I have to reset/reinstall my phone/apps, will the security keys still work or will i have to set them back up again? It looks as though Ente backs them up but Aegis doesn't.

Ente Auth has an option for cloud sync. It also can be run without an account so 2FA codes are local, Aegis is only local. If you run local then you'll have to save the code file to a USB, drive, or your own cloud storage.

Either service is good. Importing codes from a local backup is really simple, but the onus is on the user to ensure it's up-to-date obviously.
