I have been doing a lot of thinking and understand much of what I am going to ask is more than likely speculation. I am definetetly not trying to spread FUD.
So it looks like the Moto's that Graphene will be on are flagship models. The Current Signature series which is a slab phone is my preffered style over say, a Razr. I also understand that Even if this phone was available in the U.S. (The Signature series) Graphene os doesn't work on that device.
Which leaads to my next thoughts, what if any Moto phone be available to U.S. users? I know Motorola was having some tiff with Erricson about patents and such, don't know that that's been resolved. But, isn't Motorola by defintion a chinese phone? I gather the FCC is wanting to ban chinese phones.
Which leads to my final thought. Esims... If I ever have the priveledge of owning a Moto Graphene OS phone, I sure would hope there is a physical sim card slot. The reason why, just based on my own paranoia that if everything goes to esims, what happens if some goofy laws say you have to have an unmodified phone or full Google play services to activate it? But also losing the physical sim card seems like we're losing yet a little more liberty somehow if everyone goes that route.
I know, I know... Anything could happen from laws to ban bootloader unlocking and having them locked down or the carriers could probably just refuse to activate certain phones.
So far I have a couple of people I have got onboard with getting new Pixel 9's because of the physical sim and Graphene os.
I guess the rabbit hole is an endless pit.
