Molly/Signal doesn't stay active

I have a Pixel 9 Pro and my partner has a 9a. My Molly and hers are the same version, everything is the same. For some reason my app stays active in the background and receives notifications but hers will not. No matter what I do I can't get it to remain in the active apps.

Any tips?

wrapper sorry might be an obvious one that you've probably already checked, but is your partners app got App Battery Usage set to Optimised, rather than Unrestricted?

Also have you tried another method of push notification to see if that helps?

In Molly's preferences is an option for automatically locking the database after a defined timeout. May that be set? If the encrypted database is locked you'll not get notifications through built-in Websocket.

harp Hmm that isn't enabled at all on her device but I'll try turning it on

wrapper But turning it on will prevent getting notifications while the database is locked. So that might not be the reason.

Wadder yes have tried that. We're both using nextpush, not got any other push options because degoogled :)

hold finger down on next push's app icon for 2 seconds > app info > app battery optimization > allow back ground usage
Set to optimized then immediately to unrestricted.

Also under here, go back 1 menu and to mobile data usage, set to unrestricted mobile data usage (if this is okay for you). It likely won't use much.

Try that out first.

If you still have issues, possibly also delete/deregister molly inside of next push then set it up again for molly.
