I'm reporting a rather strange bug with the UGC app on my Pixel 7a running GrapheneOS.
Description of the issue:
- As soon as I install the UGC app (Play Store version), it launches, freezes, and then closes immediately.
- At the same time, the Google Play Services crash and the phone slows down significantly while the services restart.
- The app does not appear to use the Play Integrity API (I checked with the usual tools).
- Enabling "Exploit Protection compatibility mode" in GrapheneOS settings makes no difference at all.
The strangest part:
Even the website https://www.ugc.fr/ doesn't work in Vanadium. The page loads partially and then gets stuck.
A family member tested the exact same app on a Pixel 9a (with regular Android). Everything works perfectly: both the native app and the website.
What I've already tried:
- Reinstalling the app several times
- Clearing the data and cache of the Google Play Services
- Testing with and without compatibility mode
- Trying the website in Vanadium in desktop mode and without blocking JavaScript
Nothing helps.
Has anyone else experienced this behaviour with GrapheneOS? Any idea where the problem might be coming from?
