Hi, I’m very much interested in this privacy oriented OS and have a few questions.
1) I have never used anything but iPhones, so I don't know how other mobile operating systems (OS) work. On iOS, there's a feature called 'Screen Time.' In that section, you can set limitations on which websites your device is allowed to visit. Basically, you create a whitelist of websites inside Screen Time. It is a device-wide feature, meaning it applies not only to Safari but to all browsers and apps that can access the internet. Only the allowed websites are reachable by the device.
Crucially, this setting is protected by a passcode. The recovery mechanism is key to my strategy: after I set the limit, I intentionally forget the Screen Time passcode. To reset it, I must verify my identity using my Apple ID, which has a long and complex password. This makes the recovery process sufficiently difficult that I cannot impulsively bypass the restriction. I use this as a self-control mechanism to increase productivity and reduce time spent on the phone.
Can this same device-wide restriction (specifically one where I can 'lock myself out' and require a complex, hard-to-guess credential to recover) be done on GrapheneOS? If so, how? If not, are there any other mobile OSes where this is possible?
2) I live in Turkey. Can I use online banking on Graphene OS, either through browsers or mobile banking apps? Are apps available without any issues?
Thank you in advance.
