Guest profiles are purged on restart.
Guest profiles + Auto restart are the safest way to protect highly sensitive data in jurisdictions where persons can be legally compelled to provide unlock codes. The slowness of courts and other delaying tactics allow activists to wait out the restart timer before the order compelling them comes into effect.
The jurisdictions where the government has this power, and the situations where they can use it will only enlarge over time, so this combination is very important to journalists, protestors, and other activists.
The duress function has uses but it would be disastrous in most situations where the powers of government possess your phone already.
It is obvious from the lock screen that a Guest profile is currently in use. Anyone with basic knowledge of GrapheneOS will know this guest profile will soon be destroyed. It therefore becomes a highly urgent matter to get the guest profile password, this urgency could lead to accelerated proceedings or torture. There is friend in my country who is subject to extrajudicial torture which succeeded in getting the Guest access because they knew it was very urgent to access it. They would probably not do the trouble to do this if they didn't know for sure a guest profile is used.
So I am asking if there is any hacks or tricks for hiding the guest profile is used? Or if there is any plans to implement functionality to hide it in future releases.
