I use an app that requires the use of the back button extensively, but it also uses immersive mode, which makes the navigation buttons at the bottom disappear after a few seconds. This means that I have to swipe up from the bottom of the phone every time I want to go back. I am using 3-button navigation, and swiping from the left is not interpreted as hitting the back button.
On my previous android phone, the buttons were always at the bottom, and the app was positioned above the buttons, so they were always visible, and did not interfere with the app.
Is there a way to make the navigation buttons permanently at the bottom of the screen, and make apps appear above them so that I can always access the buttons? As an alternative, is there a way to make it interpret a swipe from the left as hitting the back button, or is there an app that has a floating back button, or can this be done with the accessibility features?
I am on Pixel 10a. I did not see tag for Pixel 10a, so I used Pixel 10.
