No Caller ID on Graphene + Pixel 10 Pro XL + Verizon

I've been using Graphene for a couple months but can find no way to get Caller Id to work.

The limited functionality that does work is identifying someone in my contacts if the phone number matches. In 2026, this can't be right. Online searches come up with the usual suspects of resetting network, reinstalling the operating system, and buy a new phone. I have reset the networking.

Are there any more helpful people out here?

Note: I did speak with a Verizon agent who was overtly hostile to my having Graphene as well as having an additional SIM from a European carrier (horrors!). Deleting the 2nd SIM had no effect other than to get the Verizon rep to calm down a bit.

I believe that is the extent of what the built-in dialer app offers. I have a faint sense that third-party dialers may do more.

GrapheneOS mostly ships the AOSP built-in apps, including Files, Phone, and Gallery. Third-party replacements for all of those have features that the AOSP apps do not (Google has not been investing a lot of resources in upkeep for those apps).

At some point it is likely that the GrapheneOS project will replace those AOSP apps, but my hunch is that will take at least a year.

For me, no caller id or carrier app, the default phone app from AOSP sometimes displays "scam likely" for half of a second then changes to the phone number. I think I'd have to pay more for better caller id other than scam likely.

Does your phone show any identification info for half a second like mine? As @de0u said, they're working on remaking the apps, however this may be an issue in telephony.

Usually(?) Carriers pass the caller's phone number along with a name which'll be handled by the OS.
