Running GrapheneOS on Pixel 8 with Android 16. Created a brand new secondary profile and installed Play Services and Play Store (in that order) from the GrapheneOS App Store. Signed into Play Store successfully. Attempting to install Google Maps results in "Can't install" with no error code or reason given.
Steps already tried:
- Force stopped Play Store, cleared cache and storage
- Enabled "Allow from this source" AND "Allow access to Android/obb folder" under Play Store's Install unknown apps settings
- Deleted and recreated the profile, reinstalled Play Services and Play Store fresh
- Profile is completely clean — no Google Photos, Aurora Store, Gcam Services Provider, or any other Google-adjacent apps installed
Additional observations:
- Google Maps installs and works fine in a different secondary profile on the same device. The working profile and broken profile are set up identically as far as I can tell
Since Maps works in another secondary profile, this doesn't seem to be a device-wide issue. The blank "Install available apps" submenu suggests Play Store is not registering itself as an installer in this profile, which may be the root cause. Is this a known issue with Android 16?Sonnet 4.6
