Obtainium: No Auto-Update

Hi,

i use Obtainium to install my apps but there is no auto-update when the app is running in background and there is an update available. I enabled it in obtainium settings, disabled background update only when device is charging. battery optimization for obtainium is turned off.

When i open Obtainium i see that there are updates available so it looks like something happend in background.

The program should download updates and install them without my confirmation. If auto-install isn't possible (for all apps) at least downloading the updates in background should be possible.

We can't do anything about that, ask the maintainers of obtainium

App battery usage should be set to "optimized" should it not?

I'm just offering a possible fix - I had a similar problem and fiddled around with settings. Seems to work for me.

Not sure if the OP is referring to ALL apps or only certain apps updated and installed by Obtainium but there is a disclaimer in the settings: " Background updates may not be possible for ALL apps.....etc" .

I know. I have installed a lot of apps and some of them should be updateable. So I think it's a problem with obtainium or android and not the app.

Yes, it can. I have mine set as Allow background usage ON and Optimize based on your usage. Recommended for most apps. I get automatic updates on my apps. I have 20 apps and all but 2 will update automatically. Those 2, I believe, are somehow unable due to the way they are written. Not sure. I get a notification for the 2 and then I have to go into Obtainium and update manually from there.

This is correct, optimized doesnt mean never. It'll be a good setting for app updates. You get an app update some minutes later compared to unrestricted. Many apps are updated every 2-12 weeks so in NY opinion it isnt worth running down the battery a bit more throughout the day because obtanium woke it up from deep sleep to get nothing.
