I’m a little confused about how calls and SMS work when in different profiles. Right now, I have multiple profiles set up, and the friction is pretty minimal now that everything is set up.
- Owner (stock, no changes)
- Daily (no Google Play Services, FOSS apps, personal communications via E2E platforms)
- Social_GApps (social apps that require Google Play Services that might have a handful of friends on and don’t need to check immediately)
- Sensitive_GApps (banking and medical apps)
- Crypto (no Google Play Services)
- Work (Google Play Services and work sensitive communications)
But I’m very confused about how calls and SMS work with a setup like this. I see that each profile can have Calls and SMS enabled. Right now, that’s only enabled for Daily. It also has “Running in the Background” enabled and notification forwarding to the current user. I don’t have a SIM rn, so I can’t test myself. But with this setup, if I get a call or a text while in the GApps_Social profile, will I get a notification or call? If I have to switch profiles to answer, that’s fine. I’m more concerned about missing calls because of the profile segregation. I guess my main reason for all this segregation is the worry that apps are communicating with each other and harvesting info.
