Hi all Australian users. I recently went about trying to figure out how to get anonymised mobile internet access without a sim card in Australia and found a work-around that has managed to get me internet access without any KYC. Not sure if it has been discussed previously but it may help some as it seems impossible to get mobile data without ID verification in Australia now.
- Using my second-hand Pixel paid for in cash overseas. Never put a sim in it, only wifi or anonymised hotspot with no-kyc physical sim (when overseas).
- When in Australia buy an overseas 'travel' sim for Australia using Monero or another anonymously obtained crypto. The best options I found for buying one was getting an esim from ZeroID or NadaNada (formerly LNVPN).
- Getting crypto in Aus without KYC is increasingly difficult so you generally need to get it in some public format and do some swaps to hide the trail with Monero.
You can't make phone calls, but that's inevitable and you use a separate phone for that.
Anyone else got this setup? Any issues with it I am missing?
