Payment in banking app cannot scan QR code

My banking app (Argenta, Belgium) cannot scan a QR code when I try to make a payment.

What I think happens is that the app triggers the default photo app and expects it to be immediately able to scan a QR code. But the default GOS photo app requires that the user selects the "QR Scan" option to scan a QR code. The problem is that the banking app only embeds the image of the photo app and does not give me access to the UI of the GOS Photo app to select the QR Scan mode.

I installed the Google Pixel Photo Module from the Aurora Store because I know that this app is always ready to detect and scan a QR code by default. Unfortunately, my banking app keeps using the GOS Photo app when trying to scan a QR code.

Questions:
- How do I change the photo app that is triggered when the banking app wants to scan the QR code?
- Is there a non-Google alternative app that would work?

Other people have found giving the play store network permission fixed QR code issues.

I don't know about your Belgium bank but many play store apps require google stuffs.

[The QR scanning app that opens] > "app info" page for said app > open by default > clear defaults

The issue is with the GOS Camera app (preinstalled in GOS) that does not capture the QR code. Besides, I do not have Play Store installed so I don't think that this issue is Play Store related.

There is no "Clear Defaults" option in the settings of the GOS Camera app.

jeancf also, in the apps defaults, there is an array of 'verified links' that you should try enabling if not already.
