What devices to use?

Just discovered GrapheneOS and am interested in trying it out. Should I wait for new phones to be released before trying Graphene? If not, what is the best device for GrapheneOS right now?

chairscrestfallen take the cheapest with long term support, be it 8a, or 8 pro with 12GB RAM if you want to have a chance to run local LLM

Anything Pixel 8/9/10 series is pretty good. Full hardware memory tagging support means better exploit protections

...with that said, the 9a is of a slightly later hardware revision where this issue might be fixed.

9a is my recommendation for now. I've got one, and am very pleased with it, so that's one thing. 😛

But is it perhaps the perfect middle ground right now? Both the 8 and 10 series have issues, as stated...

9a is also on sale with most retailers, as I'm writing this. Probably clearing inventory for the 10 series.

If you’re considering the Pixel 8 series, the only model I’d recommend is the 8a. The other models have a known hardware flaw caused by poor engineering, where the display cable can be damaged by the grounding pins.

chairscrestfallen I suggest get something cheap with support for next 2+ years, when yoi get convinced, you cam splash out on more expensive model. I started off with 6a, now on 9 Pro XL, it's great.
