Greetings all. Recently switched over from Apple's horrendously locked down ecosystem and took the plunge into grapheneOS. After several days of getting music and everything transferred, I started playing around with the idea of a replacement for Apples air tags.
Obviously Airtags won't work with Android, and with the way it functions as a mesh network with every other Apple device I wouldn't want to use one anyway. Curious from a privacy/location standpoint of using something like a life tile, which AFAIK, only uses Bluetooth to reach nearby devices. Theoretically, if I restrict the tile app usage to not allow any connections or sensor permissions, and only enabling when I need to use it (misplaced keys etc) there should be no/minimal damage to any sort of footprint, no? Was curious for advice on this or if anyone else has experimented with this themselves. Not sure of the general consensus on Bluetooth devices, if that's a hard no to the philosophy of grapheneOS or if some have just mitigated the risks involved.
