Any way to prevent dismissing of notification apps?

I use nextpush and often accidentally dismiss the active notification which in turn kills all of the push notifications from coming through. Does anyone know of a work around for this?

If you long press on the notification, then tap the settings cogwheel, you may disable showing the notification. This is what I do for my always-on VPN. It has a different notification category for when it's disconnected, so I only see something when attention is needed.

Pretty sure if I don't maintain the nextpush foreground service it just stops being persistent

Thanks I completely forgot about that. I wonder if the app will eventually just unload or not

From dismissing the notification? no. You could hide the notification from ever showing up by customizing it. Keep an eye on it if you wish.
